Skateboard Squeegee
The original idea for the Skateboard Squeegee came while watching Osama, and Ayman Abdeldayem of Carpet Company printing a run of skateboards. All of the skateboards they make are screen printed and numbered by hand. In order to match the couture of the skateboard, they were using a wooden handle squeegee cut into four pieces with glue and tape holding it together. After viewing a session of the Carpet Co boys printing, I knew there was a way to design and 3D print a better squeegee.

Concept Development
The handle of the Skateboard Squeegee was developed around the contour of a skateboard while printing. The curve in the handle allows the blade of the squeegee to remain in contact with the entire printable surface of a skateboard deck while maintaining even pressure all around.

Refining the Design
Working with Carpet Company I modeled and 3D printed multiple prototypes for them to run test prints on. After a few iterations we landed on a final design. Our main focus was to get the correct curvature for the concave of a skateboard. Create a handle to improve ergonomics while printing hundreds of skateboards. Create a 3D printable design.
